On Monday, the dissolved Wasit Provincial Council announced that more than 95% of the governorate’s budget for 2019 would be returned to the state treasury, stating that the projects that were referred to had not been submitted by any company.
Council member Ghaleb Al-Rudaini told Al-Maalouma that the governorate and governorate council worked during the period before the parliament’s decision to dissolve the provincial councils to refer several projects for implementation due to time constraints and the end of the fiscal year.
He added that “all of these projects are back because companies have not submitted them despite the price adjustment three times,” noting that “the province has been free of any new projects for the current year.”
He explained that “more than 95% of the governorate budget for the year 2019 was not spent and will be returned to the state treasury,” noting that “the matter requires action by provincial deputies to rotate it for the year 2020 to ensure that the rights of the governorates are not lost.”
